Fire Safety Information:

See the Maui County Fire Safety page for basic information on fire safety and tips on making a Fire Escape Plan. In addition, you may be able to get a discount on your HO6 policy by maintaining a fire extinguisher. Small, hand-held spray extinguishers, such as this one from Amazon.com, can be easier to use and convenient to place in multiple locations in your household. Further, for those in three-bedroom and second-story, two-bedroom units may wish to acquire a Fire Escape Ladder, such as one of these from Home Depot and Amazon.com, in the event that the only safe exit is off the second-story lanai. Lastly, don’t forget to inform your guests of your fire escape plan!

General guidelines for handling fire damage:
  1. Notify the Site Manager. They are experienced in helping owners resolve these issues and know how to work with the AOAO’s insurance company. Owners are not permitted to submit claims to the AOAO’s insurance company. See our Homeowners Insurance Guidelines page for detailed claims procedures.
  2. Contact your personal homeowner’s insurance agent.
